Manga Bond (1964 – 1967)

Live And Let Die / Shinu no wa Yatsura Da (1964 to 1965)
Publication: Originally serialized in Boys Life magazine December 1964 to August 1965
Writer / Artist: Takao Saito
Plot: This adaptation appears to be fairly faithful to the Fleming novel with the exception of replacing Quarrel with an annoying little white kid! Some additional action scenes has been added, such as a fight on top of the moving train as part of Bond and Solitaire’s railroad journey from New York to Miami, and an expanded Voodoo ceremony scene.
Thunderball / Sakusen (1965 to 1966)
Publication: Originally serialized in Boys Life magazine September 1965 to March 1966
Writer / Artist: Takao Saito
Plot: Need more information on how faithful this treatment is to the Fleming novel
On Her Majesty’s Secret Service / Joou keika no 007 (1966)
Publication: Originally serialized in Boys Life magazine April to December 1966
Writer / Artist: Takao Saito
Plot: While sort of sticking to the plot of the Fleming novel this version adds an epic lion fight (with Bond dressed as a gladiator), includes a bald character called Mr. Big, and Bond and Tracy first meet during a hectic car chase.
The Man With The Golden Gun / Oogon-ju wo motsu otoko (1967)
Publication: Originally serialized in Boys Life magazine January to August 1967
Writer / Artist: Takao Saito
Plot: Reportedly the most widely divergent from the Fleming novel. (Need more information on the overall plot.)
